Centerview Partners
How Centerview Partners became Wall Street
Blair Efron and Robert Prouzan founded Centiview Partners in 2006 with one constraint, no trading, no underwriting, no investment banking conflicts. They would do one thing and do it without compromise. Mergers and acquisitions advisory, pure advisory, uncontaminated by businesses that pulled in different directions. Established advisors like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley made billions trading and underwriting. Advisory was a means to those ends. Centiview made advisory the entire business. Clients knew where the firm's incentives pointed, not toward creating a securities offering or getting a commission on a trade, towards structuring the best possible deal.
