When Chrome killed third-party cookies, LiveRamp
Google announced it would eliminate third-party cookies from Chrome. The announcement terrified advertisers who relied on cookies to track users across websites. LiveRamp had spent a decade building an alternative. Instead of tracking anonymous cookies, LiveRamp connected authenticated identities to advertising exposure across channels. The system linked a user's hashed email address across publishers, advertisers, and data providers. When a user logged into a news website, LiveRamps Identity Graph recognized them and enabled targeted advertising without cookies. The precision was higher and privacy compliance was better. Revenue reached 600 million in 2023. The company connected over 250 million consumer records across 14,000 clients.
