A top producer closing 5 million in annual sales could pocket tens of thousands more at Remax. The best agents did the math and switched. Dave Linniger founded Remax in 1973 in Denver by the 2000s over 100,000 agents in more than 100 countries. The franchise generated over 350 million annually from fees and dues. Remax went public in 2013 and maintained margins above 40%. Then the industry shifted. The 2023 NAR settlement forced changes to commission disclosure.
