The most decorated makeup artist in fashion history launched her own brand in 2015 and became the first makeup artist in a century to cross a billion-dollar brand valuation. Pat McGrath spent two decades designing runway looks for Prada, Versace, Dolce and Gabana, Louis Vuitton and Valentino, credited as the global beauty director of multiple major labels simultaneously. In 2015, she self-funded a first product called Gold Zero One, a pigment and applicator set, and sold it exclusively through her own website. One thousand units sold out in six minutes. The brand scaled from that single launch with our outside capital, eventually reaching a valuation above $1 billion after a urazio led investment round in 2018.
