Westman Atelier

Gucci Westman, one of the highest-paid session makeup artists in the world, launched her own brand in 2018 with 12 products priced at around $75 each. The launch sold out across three retailers in the first weekend. Westman spent two decades as the global artistic director for Revlon and Lancome, then as a freelance session artist working on campaigns for Viktoria Beckham, Julianne Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow. Her personal aesthetic was specifically anti-contour, a soft-skinned first finish that relied on cream formulations rather than layered powders. In 2018, she partnered with her husband, film producer David Neville, to self-fund a 12-product collection designed around that aesthetic. Clean formulations, bamboo and recyclable packaging, and refillable compacts were embedded from the first launch rather than added later.
