The most stressful sentence in real estate is four words. Your offer was outbid. In Seattle and San Francisco, buyers submitted 10, 15, sometimes 20 offers before winning. Each rejection cost weeks and thousands in inspection fees. Flyhomes built a product to eliminate that pain. The company launched in 2016 with a cash offer program. Flyhomes would buy the home on the buyer's behalf with cash, making the offer non-contingent. Sellers loved it because cash closes faster. Buyers loved it because they stopped losing bidding wars. By 2021, over 150 million raised at close to 800 million valuation. The model depended on two conditions.
