Dr. Dennis Gross
How a NYC dermatologist
A park avenue dermatologist spent the 1990s performing chemical peels on Manhattan clients at around $600 per session. In 2002, he figured out how to put the same treatment in a sealed foil pouch and sell it for $5 a use. Dr. Dennis Gross ran a busy clinical dermatology practice on park avenue in New York. His in-clinic peel treatment required careful sequencing of an acid step and a neutraliser step applied in precise timing, which was the reason professional peels commanded the prices they did. In 2002, he developed a two-step foil pouch system that delivered both steps in a single at-home application, launched under his own name, and turned a clinical procedure into a single-use consumer product. The two-step foil delivery was the entire innovation.
