A New Jersey Realtor was diagnosed with a rare liver tumor in 2008 that her doctor attributed partly to years of exposure to common household chemicals. She recovered and launched a clean skin care line designed to avoid every ingredient on her surgeon's avoid list. Indi Lee built her career as a commercial real estate broker through the 2000s and was diagnosed with the rare tumor in early 2008. Recovery included a full purge of household, beauty and personal care products that contained known endocrine disruptors. She could not find a prestige skin care line that met her post-surgery requirements. So she researched green chemistry, partnered with a clean formulations lab and launched Indi Lee in 2010 with the Brightening Cleanser as the hero product.
