Two stylists launched a haircare line for stylists. Unilever bought it for $400M.
4. New York-based celebrity hairstylists founded a salon. Together in 2014 and immediately launched a product line engineered specifically for the hair they were styling at photo shoots and fashion shows. Unilever acquired the brand seven years later. Chase Cusaro, Aaron Grenier, Frank Isquierdo and Leo Isquierdo had all worked as individual session stylists on Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and fashion runway productions through the 2000s and early 2010s when they founded IGK in 2014. The salon opened in New York and Miami simultaneously and the product line launched in the same year. The formulations were built around the specific styling moments the stylists worked with most often including a dry shampoo, a texturizing spray and a thermal heat protectant.
