A 1997 Stockholm brand sells haircare with a single coloured stripe per category.
Two Swedish hairstylists who had worked editorial shoots for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue through the 1990s launched a hair care brand in 2004 with a specific design rule. Every bottle would look identical except for a single coloured band denoting the product category. Sasha Mittick and Juan Rosenland founded Sasha Joanne in Stockholm in 2004 after running a salon together through the 1990s. The brand positioning was a combination of Scandinavian design restraint and salon professional formulation with every product packaged in an identical opaque white bottle marked only by a slim coloured band indicating shampoo, conditioner, treatment or styling. The typography on every bottle was identical and the only visual variable was the coloured stripe.
