A French fragrance entrepreneur who had spent years in the niche perfume industry launched a brand in 2015 built on a very specific chemistry claim. Every composition would include concentrations of what the industry calls 'molecular musks' at levels that would trigger what perfumers call 'skin resonance'. Hugo LaHood founded Initio Parfums Prius in France in 2015 after years in niche fragrance distribution. The brand's compositions were built around unusually high concentrations of synthetic musk molecules that interact with a wearer's own skin chemistry, creating what the brand marketed as magnetic blends. The launch collection included oud for greatness, side effect and psychedelic love, all priced at the top of the niche luxury tier at around $300 per bottle.
