Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera was a Venezuelan socialite who launched her New York fashion house in 1981 at age 42. Her fragrance license, held by Puig since 1995, now generates more annual revenue than the fashion house ever produced. Herrera had been a regular on the best dressed lists of the 1960s and 70s before deciding to start her own fashion label in 1981, encouraged by Diana Vreeland. The New York house launched with collections aimed at the same Manhattan society women Herrera had spent two decades photographed alongside. Puig signed the fragrance license in 1995 and the launch of Good Girl in 2016 became one of the fastest growing fragrance launches of the decade, anchored by a visually distinctive high-heel shoe-shaped bottle.
