Hair by Sam McKnight
40 years cutting Princess Diana pixie and leading Chanel runway hair before he bottled his own technique in London in 2017.
British hair stylist spent 40 years cutting Princess Diana's pixie, leading Chanel runway hair and travelling with Vogue editors to global shoots before he bottled his own technique in 2017. Sam McKnight founded hair by Sam McKnight in London in 2017 with a single product, Cool Girl Barely There, texture mist. Vogue called it Sam in a can. The retail price sat at 24 pounds. Most stylist branded hair care in the prestige tier was Orabu, an American brand built on a similar editorial pedigree. McKnight's positioning was British and even more editorial. The mist was the actual texture spray he had used backstage at Chanel almost a decade. The strategic claim was the reputation. McKnight's client list was longer and harder to manufacture than any beauty marketing campaign.
